Type, the frame that appears in the home page of the site I left, where it has a post with the large image and 2 on the right.
I wanted to do just that, leave a featured post and the other 2 smaller, how do I pass the arguments and pull the post so that one of them stands out?

To leave the featured posts or pages on the home page, go to the editing page and mark the star. It does not need any special plugin or field. In this same page you determine the order of articles / posts.
I suggest that to sort, use spaced numbers, that is instead of 1,2,3, ... use 10,20,30, ...
So if you need to change the order of highlights it will be easier.
Finally, to appear as in the page mentioned (big image on the left, with two smaller ones on the right) you need to tweak the theme of the site, or at least in CSS.
