Although this question is a means of personal opinion, it can help several other people if we put the positives and negatives of each technology.
I have a server in the USA, with a link of 1 Gbt / s Full Duplex, today I do not consume nor 2% of this band. I need to make an application to backup photos on this server. Today with almost 5 million photos and 300GB. On average 1000 photos of 400kb every day. I store these photos physically and their names are in MS SQL.
What's the best:
Make an app that will store in my OneDrive (1tb) account or locally in my company?
I initially tried to create an Onedrive drive mapping and would do so via Robocopy (command-line application that does bulk copy) for that drive. However, Windows 2008 R2 does not allow this feature.
Advantages of OneDrive (I think it will be faster than uploading the photos from that location)
Disadvantage: The Software will become more complex since I probably need the OneDrive SDK.
