Zabbix 3.0 - How to receive radio association data via SNMP

0

I'm new to the Zabbix platform and I know very little about the SNMP protocol.

My question is simple, goes the explanation of the process:

1 - Each subway station has 2 radios (1 in each way) and each train has its own radio;

2 - When a train arrives at the station, it associates and authenticates with the respective radio in the way of the station in question, appearing the information below (using the Telnet command on the radio of the station, I can observe this connection data):

3 - In the image, it shows a MAC ADRESS authenticated and associated, that is, nothing else is that the train X is in station Y.

Question: I need a simple way how can I make Zabbix send me the following information on the ATO of the connection via SNMP (as the train authenticates):

  • MAC ADRESS of the connection (in the case of the Train);
  • MAC ADRESS of the radio (in this case the station and route in question);
  • Connection Date and Time;

Note: I want to have these MAC ADRESS in a database to know the name of the train and name of the station, which will be done later.

Thank you!

Hello, Well, first you need to understand that zabbix does not send any information via SNMP, quite the contrary, it can capture information that your device (radio) provides via SNMP.

To know everything that your radio has available, you should use snmpwalk to query the device and then build monitoring through zabbix.

Do not forget to always consult the official zabbix documentation.

Below are some links that will help you in the process.

I hope you have helped.

Good studies.
