I developed a news portal for companies that I work for and on this portal I have an average of 500 thousand accesses a month.
I'm having a lot of time with my site at some time.
The same has a huge database (4GB) because it has news since 2010. When you post a relevant subject that has many concurrent hits the same as the database error.
Today I tried to use Google's MySQL cloud served. I migrated the database is will turned the site to connect on this basis in Google. Only it got worse hour birds dava time gave database error. On the same server I put a simple database connection in PHP to test the connection and when wordpress reported connection error in the database the php script would connect normally.
What can be happening? Google Cloud was not experiencing any overhead
