Add devices to Quartus II 13.0sp1 using .qdz file

0

It happened to me and I had some difficulty in finding the solution, so I decided to share it.

The problem occurs when Quartus indicates that there are no devices installed, and when accessing Install Devices on the interface, nothing happens. Unfortunately I do not have prints now that I have solved the problem, but whoever is going through this will identify itself.

How to solve?

The first step is to access the download center from the Altera site for version 13.0sp1 *, and download the corresponding to the desired device. In my case, it was the Cyclone II family. You may need to create a free account on the site to download.

Afterdownloading,movethefile(.qdzextension)toaknowndirectory,whichwillbeusednext.

ThenlookfortheQuartusII13.0sp1DeviceInstallerandrunit.

Afterclickingnextinthefirstwindow,selectthedirectorythatcontainsthe.qdzfileandgoahead.

You will probably receive an error stating that the selected directory does not have qdz files, so rename the qdz file by following one of the following patterns: cycloneV-13.1.0.162.qdz or cyclone_web-13.1.0.162.qdz . The change is basically a _ or - but now back to the directory selection, it will work.

After the file is selected, just go through the installation and finish. After that the installed device will be available in Quartus.
