Assuming that the card reader you use is in good condition and that the SD card does not exceed the maximum size supported by the reader, here are two options.
1- Try connecting the sd card to a computer with windows 10, I have seen that it brings more drivers than windows 7.
2-Download a recovery software like recuva or runtime getdataback simple trial version, install and use it to scan and find the files, but if you want to recover them you will have to pay the license.
