They say he earns 10 million a year. If that's true, I think that money is more than deserved. Many people with higher incomes have not contributed even a tenth as much to the world as Linus.
In 2001 or 2002 I had the privilege of attending a lecture Linus gave for free at my university. The first question he was asked was how much he earned. I find it curious that the same question is still being asked today.
I recently read that he is the highest paid programmer in the world. That the Linux Foundation pays him a salary of $10 million a year. I understand that the Linux Foundation receives generous contributions from technology companies. They said he now only oversees and approves code that may or may not be integrated into Linux.
