They are expensive because at that price Apple believes it maximises its profits. If they decided to sell them cheaper they would increase their sales, but they probably wouldn't be able to maximise the result for their shareholders.

They are good and overpriced equipment sometimes but.taking into account Apple's insurance or services which are payable,in short you pay more for services and ecosystem.another point is the operating system as this is unique and the company manufacture their own processors,finally their reputation in the market is what makes them more expensive (as they say sells more the brand).

I think the company's trajectory, the status acquired in the market with its products since the early days, innovating and always thinking about giving and making a difference to those who own an Apple device, is what has allowed part of its overpriced price. For being objective and clear, there are so many more devices similar or superior to what an iPhone currently offers.
